Learn Bravely offers four, one hour classes. Our classes are small, with approximately eight to twelve students in each group.
Our daily schedule:
10:00 am – Session one
11:00 am – Session two
Noon – Lunch and recess
1:00pm – Session three
2:00om – Session four
**All classes are subject to change depending on the availability of facilitators and resources. These courses are not listed in order of school day.**
Spring 2018
4-6 years old
- Music and Movement – starting our day with songs, dance, and playground games
- Little House on the Prairie – learning about pioneer life from the stories of Laura Ingalls Wilder
- Stories and Crafts – a quiet hour after lunch to be inspired by great stories
7-9 years old
- Time Travelers – we’ll learn about life throughout human history with a variety hands-on and immersive activities
- Simple Machines and Junk Box Engineering – exploring simple machines using K’nex and applying those concepts by repurposing ‘junk’ into cool creations
- National Parks – let’s travel the US and learn more about its wonders with virtual visits to the National Parks
10-13 years old
- Physical Science – fun experiments to introduce physics and chemistry concepts
- Myths and Legends – we’ll discuss the similarities in the many stories told around world and learn about the Hero’s Journey
- Brain Games and Logic Puzzles – metacognition is fun when you explore perception, illusions, challenges, and more with play!
14-18 years old
- World Government and Economics – integrating mock UN, stocks, and public speaking
- Hot Topics – critical thinking and open, respectful discussions about various current event subjects
- General Chemistry – labs and discussion to get hands-on with science
Choice – an hour of mixed age group classes based on shared interests
- Drama and Improv – acting-up with improv games and creative drama fun
- Yoga and Relaxation – integrating our minds and bodies for calm awareness
- Card Games – we’ll play a variety of traditional and deck-building games using various types of cards
Fall 2017
4-6 years old
- Get to Know You – stories, music, movement to ease into the day
- You Built It! – play with legos, lincoln logs, and more
- Our Universe, Our World – astronomy and nature studies
7-9 years old
- Young Zoologists – animal characteristics and care
- All About Games – tv game shows, board games, and card games
- Introduction to Sewing and Fiber Arts
10-13 years old
- Electricity and Magnetism
- Survival Skills (with high school)
- Creative Carpentry Workshop
14-18 years old
- World Government and Economics – integrating mock UN and public speaking
- Survival Skills (with middle school)
- General Chemistry
Choice – an hour of mixed age group classes based on shared interests
- Desserts and Digital Gaming – gaming while our creations bake
- Book Club and Writing – talk about favorite books and write our own
- PE – different sports, games, and dances
- Art Appreciation – inspiration from the masters
